About

Fábio was born in the metropolitan area of the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

He didn't start dancing until he was 14 years old after discovering ballet

watching Ana Botafogo in a soap-opera.

Patrícia Araújo was the teacher who introduced him to dance and made his

passion for the art form grow. At the age of 16, Fábio decided he wanted

to pursue a professional career in dance and started training with Helfany

Peçanha to perfect his ballet technique.  After 1 year, Fábio was accepted

into the professional school of Theatro Municipal of Rio de Janeiro, Escola

Estadual de Dança Maria Olenewa. The same year he started training with

Natalia Valdanini and joined the Caetano Companhia de Dança, a

comtemporary pre-professional dance company at the time. Natalia was an

important instructor in Fábio's ballet training and at the same time he was

being introduced to the contemporary dance world by Thiago Caetano.

In 2011 he performed  in the production of Marguerite & Armand (Frederick Ashton) for Ana Botafogo's 35th career anniversary.

In 2012 he joined Companhia Jovem de Ballet do Rio de Janeiro, a youth ballet company directed by Dalal Achcar and Mariza Estrella. During that time he

had the opportunity to work with renowned choreographers such as Tindaro Silvano, Eric Frederic, Janice Botelho and more.

Fábio graduated at Escola Estadual de Dança Maria Olenewa in 2014. During his time as a student, he had the chance to perform with the professional company in big productions of ballet and opera as The Nutcracker, The Rite of Spring Coppelia, Aida and more.

In 2014, he joined Companhia de Dança Campos dos Goytacazes, where he performed Le Corsaire (Grand Pas de Deux), Grand Pas Classique (Grand Pas de Deux), The Sleeping Beauty (Grand Pas de Deux), Satanella (Grand Pas de Deux), Brahms (Contemporary piece by Tindaro Silvano) and Afogante, a contemporary piece he choreographed for the company. During this time, he worked with the cuban ballet mistress Sahyli Presmanes and learned about the cuban method of ballet. Fábio was in the company for 2 years, before he moved to the United States of America.

In 2016, Fábio attended the Nashville Ballet summer intensive. Soon after, he joined Atlantic City Ballet and performed soloist and leading roles in full length ballets like Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, Dracula, The Nutcracker (Cavalier) and Carmen (Don José), all choreographed by the Artistic Director Phyllis Papa. Fábio also perfomed in the Miss America pageant.

Aside from his dance career, Fábio founded Fabiolous Crochet in 2017, designing and making the crochet products. In 2020 he co-founded  Blacks in Ballet alongside Ruan Galdino and Ingrid Silva, an online platform with the purpose of highlighting black ballet dancers and inspiring people.
